Ahem, that aside, this looks like the sort of pic that an agent might use to sell a holiday. The Gite is, of course, excellently proportioned and ideal for visiting the central districts.
This looks as though it is a ‘picture town’, somewhere the tourists are taken to see what housing used to be like. I’ve just googled it and found it in a tourist guide as a non touristy ??????? :-)
It does feel very inviting, wanting to walk down the cobbles and take pictures. As I love cobbles the proportion of the image occupied by them, I see as an advantage.
No tourists around. It’s less than 15 minutes walk from Montparnasse but is really a village in the town without a grand Parisian monument in sight – thank goodness. The white ‘poo’ was included deliberately!
A lovely, inviting place to walk, poo and all. I agree that the white “stuff” anchors it well. I’m attracted by those very green plants growing in the cracks of the sidewalk.
Oh, sorry I had gotten lost in my stroll, enjoying the opportunity to soak up the peace and quiet, the rich colors, delightful textures, cool temperatures (but not too chilly) and that warm inviting light up ahead—all very inviting. I didn’t want to stop to chat. The “poo” up front was only a momentary distraction. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be on my way. I’m headed for those blue shutters for a closer look, before I make my way to the geraniums (perhaps?)and I really want to see the area in the light.
The strong path leads you through the picture which holds enough detail at this size for you not to go quickly through it. Surprisingly, as Matt noted to, this holds up well to repeated viewings. Not that it throws up new information upon each revisit but it maintains your interest as it provides a pleasing feast for the eyes.

This has held up to repeated viewings, and I think it’s that poo that anchors the whole thing. And to think, I shied away from mentioning the poo ;-)
I don’t think this looks particularly touristy. For one thing, there’s nowhere in sight to buy a drink, keychain, umbrella, t-shirt etc etc etc.
