  2. ..and with the cones that shape it is quite clear which city too.

  3. What a fascinating combination – almost too much of a good thing mixing right and left hand sides of the picture. I could live with just the grainy reflection on the right.

I get the animal allusion but it doesn’t stick for long with me as one does see these covered bikes around in different guises. But that doesn’t matter as I enjoy it as an urban artifact in amongst the other Japanese architectural details.

  4. I don’t think it is an elephant, it is a hippo. Does the barrier of cones keep the hippo in or the public out?

The added bits of eye food are fun, hippo food bottom right and the reflected street view.

  5. Definitely an elephant. Also the overall picture feels like a triptych. Curious why a bike indoors needs a rain cover.
Raises a lot of questions about the owner’s behaviour: why the cones, why paint a parking bay, why the cover?
I like this sort of pondering from a photograph.

  6. My favorite joke in this is Rex’s point. Are the cones to keep the public out or the wildlife in? To my eyes, it’s an elephant.

  7. I wondered what picture would accompany such a title, now I see it I can have a good laugh.
Elephant for sure. The right panel gives me a thought that he is hiding and ready to charge.

  8. Akikana clever — I also see elephant, not hippo. The title plays a good part in making this such a fun view.

  9. Umm I think you lot need lessons in the size and shape of elephant vs hippo

  10. I like the slight, akikana skew here, like you’ve surprised yourself walking up on this.
