  1. I know it must be an optical illusion but that cat seems to be floating over the pavement. I like the mystery created by the glove on the scaffold pole, it adds to the ‘spooked’ theme (floating cat included)

  2. the gloves, the eyes, the half car, the cat, the closed door, the alleyway. So many bits of different stories, all in one place

  3. and the Merlin Poster, wonderful combination of elements

  4. It is a good set of elements. I’m not sure that the eye lines work though. Maybe I just don’t feel like working this morning.

  5. It works for me — there is a sort of tension set up among all the elements that does make it seem a bit spooky. That cat has no shadow. The disembodied hand and wide open eyes of the poster add to the magic effect. Maybe you should have had an all black cat — but the white parts on this one are good for the composition.

  6. Christina – a black cat might have brought me luck though.

  7. Runs me edge to edge – with the half car and glove I wondering what’s going to happen first. The eyes and the cat seem like a different story.
Good elements but I’m still not sure whether it’s all working together.

And an off the wall comment, reminds me of the deja-vu cat in The Matrix.

  8. Doonster – I’m not sure why you separate out the glove from the eyes as they act together in my book.

  9. Every time I come to this, I come away with something different. Is that Merlin’s glove, reaching out to pet his familiar? Or is it all disparate elements, jumbled together. I can see it either way.

  10. Oodles of amusement all the way around in this image. Most elements have been commented on already, but the fact that the car appears about to plunge off some unseen precipice is one more little tweak that I like.
