Before or after? I mirror Colin’s feelings, although I think the lighting makes her eyes look more manic than exuberant.

I’m with the doonster/colin camp on this. It does have a strange set of lighting going on. Even at such a wide angle it doesn’t look overly distorted.

I’m wondering how differently she photographed after the triathlon — did you get an after?

I can’t get this phrase from some childhood memory out of my head, “I’m so excited, I’m about to pop!” You mentioned, Gordon, that she was manic, and the photograph certainly captures that.
