  1. When I first saw this I thought it was mpnochrome. So much for the south west having better weather than we ‘oop north’.

Like the angle – unusual enough to attract attnetino and focus on the structure as well. I think the glimmer of colour in the hotizon sky portends a better day soon.

  2. I like the perspective, very powerful. The way you’ve included the trees and horizon is interesting, as when I shoot images like this I try to eliminate natural elements and really focus on the bold straight lines and shapes. It’s good to see someone else’s take on an image like this, it creates a very different feeling.

  3. As Antony alludes to, structures like this tend to be turned into abstracts (you do it yourself!!) so it is very rewarding to see this original take on a bridge. It works very well but the real reward is that faint hint of winter light on the right by that ancient British tree!

  4. Yep, an interesting perspective. I’d go with the elimination of natural elements in this – i.e. a crop just above that highest crown of the tree. As it stands I feel left a little in-between. Strong subject, but a background/additional detail that is competing for attention and seems to be winning.

  5. I’m happy to have Florida weather, but if you had our blue skies and light for this image it would not only be much different, but I suspect also less interesting. I like the natural elements included.

  6. Indeed, strong geometry which I always like balanced with some natural elements as here. What really makes this stand out is the complement of the slight colour in the sky with the that of the top of the tower.

  7. I like a picture to have a strong base, the trees here provide that element.

Very low in the colours, there is the slight warmth over the horizon and also on the top of the bridge, it is subtle but there. Could it be amped up a bit? maybe. The warm tones definitely link the two parts of the picture, make you travel between the two areas.
