  2. Sorry for my earlier quick comment, but all I have to say is that this is just an absolute belter of a picture.Made my day.

  3. My first thought was also “brilliant”. And how I enjoy thinking about you taking this — I wish I also had a picture of that. Thanks for the smiles.

  4. I particularly like the rugged moorland background making it seem as if he was keeping it at bay. The grass spattered all over his face and clothing is as expressive an indicator of a job as any I have seen! I just wonder why he is not wearing better eye protection. Next I’d like to hear the Scottish accent!

    • They were using large agricultural strimmers but shut them down as we approached so they were H&S aware. We stopped to ask what they were doing as it was a Sunday morning and the sides of the track were not sufficiently overgrown to impede the track. I’m sure they said they were volunteers and they came down to clear the edges of the track to discourage adders from resting at the edge of the path where children might disturb them. THIS is the start of the track where they were reaching the end of their work, they had already completed several hundred metres to the east of this point. Having stopped to talk I plucked up the courage to ask for his picture.

  5. that is fantastic, if you ever see him again offer him this picture. I’m glad you asked to take his picture otherwise we would all have missed this happy moment.

  6. Hi Rex. Not much to add to what has been said before, it is a truly enjoyable picture. I like the composition with the background and the bokeh. Thanks for the smiles indeed.
