  1. Subject matter that I suspect we all like to take. This has been thought about though and its particular strength is to abstract the leaves and place them against the blue – to set them off – and the amber – to complement them. It’s not an easy picture to look at as its tendency to the abstract precludes ‘romantic’ viewing – which is what makes it different and more interestingly challenging. Romance meets mathematics!

  2. Form and atmosphere combined – I like this image.

  3. The dark building and the direction of the light have made the leaves glow beautifully especially against the reflected sky. The DoF control also emphasises the leaves well.

  4. It has all the elements I like but isn’t quite coming together for me. The geometric isn’t composed quite formally, yet also not fully abstracted. Seems to hang in limbo for me. Also the dark patch bottom left seems to unbalance the elements.

  6. How odd. It was there, then it went, then it came back, I dragged it on to my desktop, and then refreshed the page then it went again.
If need be I can put it back.

    • Hi Rex,

My webserver has crashed, I am busy recovering it. It may take a day or so before all is well again. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  7. ahh, worth the wait. Enjoy the randomness of the leaves against the exacting pattern of window in the background.

  8. Robert’s comment has hit on it for me — also John’s. A nice exercise going back and forth between right brain and left brain!
