  1. I love this. Nice use of the 2 views, great colour without going overboard on contrast and a pleasingly simple subject.

  2. The first impression is of the colours and how they work so well in their subtle variations around monochrome. I then spent a lot of time wondering whether combining sharp foreground and nearly equally sharp background would allow one to see both parts of the diptych together. The conclusion was: possibly. I then saved the image so that I could see it in a viewer and not on the WP page on my browser and found it much more enjoyable seen in its entirety, with the dividing line much less evident. I agree with Martin about the simplicity of the subject: it is well observed. I think, after some musing, that the diptych works because one can see both ways of presenting the subject matter (with a camera) without losing the advantages of either.
