Still trying to work this one out. The bold foreground object is arresting and it takes effort to look past it. Plus there is a steel slug bottom right.
Is it really an “artwork” or was it sarcasm? I, too, like the coming together of both yellows in this one. You have put the main subject boldly in the middle and as Mike said it is difficult to get past it.
Cem – certainly not sarcasm. When I arrived here, it began to dawn on me that what I had thought was a random paint job was probably a deliberate attempt to extend the spirit of Cardiff Bay right to the edge of the barrage. It was constructed about ten to twelve years ago and the ‘Bay’ (where the Welsh Assembly and Millenium concert hall are) is full of water at all states of the tide. Boats come and go through a lock system.
So instead of taking a more straightforward shot, I wanted to see what I could do with the results of the Project’s efforts.
I love the juxtaposition of the two yellows (shouldn’t they be your favourite red?) and the steely grey sky is still brightened by that yellow.
