  1. I hardly know the East coast, knowing only Whitby and a bit of Northumbria. This would seem to be somewhere in the general vicinity of the former. The balance of the lighting is superb and you have made the most of the mood of the sky and the somewhat relieving lighter tone of the stone. The two masts and the red-clad people are good counter-points to the monochrome landscape. But my favourite is the star-shaped piece of seaweed in the foreground.

    • Not a bad guess at the location John, it was actually somewhere around Flamborough Head. (Which was imformation that I thought I’d included in the post).

  2. Do you give out red tee shirts when the sky is steely grey like this? That splash of red certainly gives the image a lift!
    We have visited the coast near Alnwick and believe it to be beautiful and a photographers delight but I don’t think we’ve done further south until we get to Norfolk.
