  1. I hope you don’t mind me posting this as it’s hardly a recent image. The little urchin on the left is my son, but he’ll be 33 some time next month!

  2. Funny how children are still the same. Always interested and inquisitive. My 7 year old decided to take part in the local inter-school cross country selection race – 1200m at age 7 – and our big concern was that there would be an interesting pebble on the way around. Every parent should have pictures like these and the colours are great.

  3. I looked at this without looking at the comments and I wondered how you created that old film look! :-) Will you be able to view your digital images in 30 years? That said this is pretty timeless with its childish curiosity.

  4. Wellies and bare feet – that about sums up children!! It’s a great shot and must be a good memory tweaker. Is it cropped?

    • As you’ve probably guess John yes it was taken using 135 film and hence it must have been cropped. I also confess that I first did a possibly unnecessary rotation to “correct” for the verticals. Though the move away from the native aspect ratio was perhaps more to do with a subconscious move towards 3:4. Thanks for commenting
