  1. Hi Robert, good to see you posting again.
The light and recession in this are very beautiful. I have a strong feeling of being drawn down that path. I was out on my bike at 6:00 this morning, it was cold and windy but fantastic.

  2. Hi Robert, lovely to see you again and what a lovely picture. Makes me quite jealous, on two counts… first as I’m still recovering from a broken collarbone sustained falling off my mountain bike – hopefully back on the bike soon – and secondly, the image reminds me of the pictures you see of dirt road touring in the US, which I’ve yet to find in the UK.

Lovely light and colour and looks like a nice ride.

    Mike

    • Sorry, should have said bikes look nice too. Love the hammered mudguards on the back bike.

  3. no good Mike, hopefully you repair quickly. I came off 2 weeks ago during a 300km ride, totally missed a corner that happened to be a hairpin. Knew I was not going to make it so aimed for the best place to put myself down. The car that was behind me that I felt was pressuring me did not stop to assist. Put a slight dampener on the day.
    Descending like Wiggins now ;o)

  4. Last night we watched the last episode of the BBC’s Australia with Simon Reeve. It didn’t feature any cycling Aussies! This is a delightful shot – totally removing any evidence of strain and stress!! But what I find best about it is that one can get some idea that it might be somewhere like Australia – trees, road type – and definitely not UK, so it does more than be an attractive capture of time and place. Sorry to hear about the accident: incidents like the guy not stopping to help do appear to be more widespread now.

  5. There are so many things about this that I like – the light on the tree and the cyclist’s top, the dust, the shadows, the position of the telegraph pole, and the feeling of it all being somewhere far away…

  6. Such a wonderful light effect — I think this is hard to depict as well as you have done here. The orange shirt plays well with the red trees and rusty dirt road. A dream quality, yet very real.
