  1. The tree and stone wall make such a lovely contrast against those white hills in the distance. I see the lines between fields working well with the lines of branches.
    That darker patch of cloud above the tree, perfect.

  3. Probably your finest of this series. I think it is a combination of the way the tonality works across the picture – the tree against the sky, the snow and walls – and the selection of what to frame in the lower part of the picture. Given all that, the tree plays its central role most effectively.

  5. I find it interesting how there seems to be at least three trees there but they nevertheless present themselves in this image as a complete unit. The fact that this type of scenery is very familiar to me does not lessen the impact of this fine image.
