  1. My first thought when I saw this was, I must get out more with my camera! The pool of light and the surrounding customers is a good centre of attention. I am curious about the man hiding behind the bar! The couple on the left just catching the edge of the light with the man looking at the bar are a great full stop to the left of the image.

  2. Beautiful atmosphere. The light is just right and the red hat suggests the season.

  3. I have looked at this photograph a lot. I suppose I would be more familiar with this kind of image in B&W, and it’s taken me a while to feel comfortable with it in colour. That may well be because B&W brings an added drama to street scenes, whilst colour, especially muted colour, doesn’t add much in the way of drama or detail. I have grown to like it though, and find the composition well balanced and interesting. The sideways glance of the man far left introduces a story element too and links the two areas of ‘action’. Good ‘un!
