  1. I cannot remember all the nice things I said about this when it was up before. I recall the lady’s top matching the stairs. I said it was gritty which I think led you to rework it.
Gritty was a compliment and the treatment suited the subject. I think you’ve made this one less gritty and I prefer the grit :-)
Don’t try and add to this or delete this just stick the original up in a new post. :-)

    • Thanks Rex – Sorry about the grit, but for me this has about the right amount of grit. I’m sure that you will come to love it in the fullness of time. I’m beginning to get the hang of this posting malarkey, thanks to your dogged perseverance. I had not seen anything to indicated a pixel limit to the size of image, but I will observe the 1000 to 1200 parameters from now on.

  2. What can I add. Love the framing, the frame within a frame and the paralleled steps with the figure on the left. Really nice mono as well. Everything to like about this. I would have a 12 by 8 print on the stairs.

    • Thanks Mike – much appreciated. I hope you don’t mind the grit limit!

      • Ha! I’m usually less ‘gritty’ than Rex. If you look at our mono skies you could believe that we would each make something very different from the same colour file. Plus, I often start from a mono file or scan in any case.

I actually like the conversion you’ve made here very much. It’s nicely balanced and conveys a strong sense of place and mood.
