  1. Taken in December 2008. It has been sitting in my ‘to send’ folder since 2009 and looking back through old photos it reminded me of a time when I might have used the 7 -14 lens a bit.

  2. I’m guessing they’re concrete supports for slatted wooden bench seats, for reasons unknown laying abandoned in an old slate quarry.

Whatever, the concrete shapes contrast well, in an incongruous way, with their surroundings.

  3. 8mm the EXIF data says. This was the lens I most lusted after. I used it for at least 3 days when we were in Istria, it was on loan from Oly. I like the contrast of the shapes with the terrain and there is a lack of scale which needs me to keep relating the bench ends to the size of a bench! Somehow they look much smaller. The B&W gives it a documentary feel, who killed the bench?

  4. Interesting picture. I’m finding it very hard to get a perspective of the surroundings. Not sure if this was shot down and the wide angle included some of the quarry walls? I just find it a bit unsettling. I will revisit to keep on trying to work it out!
